At Core Abilities Behavior Services, our mission is simple: helping individuals and families build meaningful skills that improve their everyday life.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Brandon Montoya and Devyn Plisik, Core Abilities was created from a shared passion for providing high-quality, compassionate Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. With a combined experience of 20 years in the field, we have dedicated our careers to helping children and families overcome challenges, build independence, and achieve goals that matter to them.

As Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and licensed behavior analysts (LBA) in Oregon, we believe every individual deserves services that are personalized, respectful, and focused on meaningful outcomes. We started Core Abilities because we wanted the flexibility to provide truly individualized care and build lasting relationships with the families we serve.

Our approach is centered around collaboration, compassion, and evidence-based practices. We work closely with families to identify goals that improve quality of life, strengthen relationships, and help individuals participate more fully in their homes, schools, and communities.

We support families of children and adolescents who may need help with:

  • Autism spectrum and related developmental needs

  • Challenging behaviors

  • Emotional regulation

  • Building daily routines and supporting transitions

  • Communication and social skills

  • School-related behavior concerns

Our Approach

We believe meaningful progress happens when services are individualized, collaborative, and enjoyable!

Our treatment plans are guided by:

• The individual's strengths and interests

• Family priorities and goals

• Community participation and independence

• Evidence-based assessment and intervention

• Ongoing data collection and progress monitoring

We regularly evaluate progress and adjust programming as needed to ensure services remain effective and aligned with the needs of the individual and family.

Most importantly, we strive to create learning environments that are safe, engaging, and supportive while building strong relationships with the families we serve.
